It’s been 5 years since I decided to travel on my birthday. After many failed birthday parties I realized Halloween was the winner, who wants to go to a November 1st party all hangover? Maybe it was meant to be. Traveling feeds my soul in a way that is indescribable. There is so much learning, exploring and discovering all happening at the same time.
This year I wanted to explore a place warm and close to California. Since I had never been to Cancun, hey why not. Everyone needs to go there once.
5 days full of adventures, I had literally no time to lay on the beach or even tan for a bit.
WHERE I STAYED: CROWN PARADISE – All inclusive hotel. Good option if you are on a budget and are not picky eater. (not my case lol)
TRANSPORTATION: Uber and bus are easy to take if you are in one of the hotels along the coast. *We had an issue taking Uber at the airport when we arrived, the police stopped the car on our way out, asked us to get out and we had to walk back with our luggage to get an actual taxi. Drop off was fine.
FOOD: All inclusive buffet of our hotel was ok, some days better than others. Healthy eaters and vegans will struggle with variety but won’t starve.
The best place we ate was a charming vegan spot; CLOROFILA in Playa Del Carmen.
WHAT TO WEAR: Weather is tropical and humid, think of swimsuits and light breathable clothing. Don’t waste time doing your hair if you are gonna be outdoors, you know what I mean. Don’t forget sunblock.
WHAT TO DO:
TOURS: We got a package at the hotel with many tours that included transportation, water, etc. I highly recommend this if you don’t want to worry about all the logistics. It wasn’t pricey at all.
Scuba Diving. I had a hard time trusting the oxygen tank and breathing under water, but I persisted and did it! The 2 hours under water ( split by two sessions) went by really fast, it was a meditative experience to me. A MUST TRY!
Snorkling: Snorkel over the underwater museum, it’s beautiful.
Renting a car: We rented a car and drove to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen in one day. I want to go back and stay there. Love, love, love.
Visited and Liked.
– Coco Bongo: you just can’t not go. Very entertaining.
– Chicen Itza, Swimming at the Cenotes.
CANCUN A MUST GO? YES!
Hope you guys enjoy the video, and #daretoexplore.
